Airport Authority Awards Contract for Replacement Passenger Terminal Concept Validation, Planning, and Cost Estimating Services

On January 16, 2018, the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority awarded a $604,500 contract to Buro Happold Consulting Engineers, Inc. for the concept validation, planning, and cost estimating services for the replacement passenger terminal and related support projects, such as parking structures. The work to be conducted by Buro Happold is not a design effort. The public will have input on the replacement passenger terminal project’s qualitative features, functionality, appearance, and aesthetics through the public design charrette workshop process that is part of the Authority’s Development Agreement with the City of Burbank.

Other aspects of the project need additional definition prior to any design effort, including the public design charrette workshops. Buro Happold will complete a concept validation and refinement of the planning work and project definitions that the Authority has already completed. Buro Happold will also review and incorporate the Development Agreement’s conditions of approval, design requirements, and project design features exhibits into a refined conceptual plan.
