BGPAA Commission Selects Design Concept for Replacement Passenger Terminal
The development of the replacement passenger terminal (known as “Elevate BUR”) has marked another major milestone, with Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport Authority (
Designing a replacement for a 90-year-old airport terminal is no easy task. That’s why we turned to our community for help. In 2019, Hollywood Burbank Airport held five design charrette workshops in the City of Burbank, as well as workshops in Glendale, Los Angeles and Pasadena. Hundreds presented their vision for Elevate BUR that will serve our community for generations to come.
The workshops focused primarily on safety improvements, design features and amenities the community and passengers would like to see in Elevate BUR.
The Charrettes were conducted between March 27 and October 26, 2019. We thank all participants for their contributions.
